Whether you know her as Devin, Dee-Vonne, or Deb, she’s practically the face of Café Luwak. She competitively works to retain her best-worst employee status. Not a coffee drinker herself, Devin lives to serve her espresso lovin’ customers from Ypsilanti’s own Jaycees to our own local postal service workers. Devin aspires to read every great work of young adult fiction, move to the windy city, and bring back the “moon boot” fad (so far unsuccessfully). Always composed – right down to her meticulously manicured nails, Devin loves nights out at Sticks, slice and bake cookies, and living by the Girl Scout Law. Oh and of course Café Luwak.

Clay is a fresh new face here at Café Luwak, but he has already filled a void in our lives that we never knew we had before his arrival. Clay is often heard singing the latest radio hits from Beyonce, Rhianna, or Celine, although his number one female idol is unquestionably Madonna. Clay enjoys well-coordinated outfits, displays of affection, and a nice glass of red wine. Although christened without a middle name, Clay lacks nothing else – his complementary personality, crazy dance moves, and big bear hugs leave us feeling warm and fuzzy. Clay aspires to cast and direct a Café Luwak film, diversify Jim Karnopp, and find love. We applaud you, Clay Byrd!

Previously referred to as Joanna, is the smiling face of Café Luwak. Her upbeat, optimistic attitude never fails to bring in tons of customers. Not only does she spread her cheer to fellow employees, she also includes them in her secret ice-cream freezer chats. The things she says while submerged would brighten your day & improve your attitude. When she isn’t working, Johan is caring for her every growing porcelain doll collection. Also, she volunteers to the underprivileged neighbors & offers them the joy of childhood with her very own trampoline. Already successful and smart Johan is perfecting her lifelong dedication to the Girl Scouts & adapting an accent to match. She’s not only a valuable employee, but a valuable scout.

Café Luwak’s token heterosexual male employee, Jon brings form fitting denim and a love of corned beef to the Café Luwak table. Jon is an old soul who aspires to revert back to a hunter / gatherer subsistence. At the tender age of 22, Jon has already stared death in the face – now he unselfishly serves Café Luwak customers with a life-affirming attitude cultivated by months in a hospital bed. Who knows when life will take this budding anthropologist, but a few things we are certain of are his unfaltering loyalty to his pup Ellie, his weakness for a compliment, and his inability to operate a motor vehicle or bicycle without catastrophic results. We ask that our valued Luwak customers not hold this against him.
